ROAR Good Deeds With Katy Perry

A lion is often feared for many different reasons. However, in some parts of the world, lion’s are looked at as protectors. Lion’s have been known to protect humans, especially children who are lost in the wild. One way they protect, communicate, and the fight is through their roar. A lion’s roar can be heard up to 5 miles away! While Katy Perry may not be a lion, her roar is heard around the world through her charity efforts. Katy Perry inspires people everywhere with roaring good deeds.

It’s time we take a look at what Katy Perry has accomplished and how we can roar good deeds alongside her.

ROAR good deeds with Katy Perry, because a roar is a sign of strength, power, protection and community and we all could use a little roar.

Katy Perry has become an icon for not only pop music but for UNICEF. Alongside UNICEF, Katy Perry has traveled around the world to visit impoverished regions. Katy would bring attention to each location and the issues they face on a daily basis. The attention that was paid to UNICEF wasn’t only on a global level but came mostly from youth. Katy Perry was and continues to be the perfect doorway into UNICEF for young adults and children everywhere.

Katy Perry was given a new title by UNICEF in December of 2013, Goodwill Ambassador. Katy said during a special event at UNICEF headquarters, “I believe young people have the power to change their own lives, with our help.” She continued to say, “I am honored to join UNICEF as a Goodwill Ambassador, and committed to doing everything I can to help children and adolescents who come from such different backgrounds but want the same thing; a brighter future.”

Overtime, Katy has used her roar through social media, word of mouth and even her music to help aid UNICEF in their efforts. A hit song, Roar, acted as a voice to those without in a PSA that inspired young girls everywhere. While Katy Perry has inspired the world, UNICEF has not finished with her yet.

This year is UNICEF’s 70-year anniversary, and there will be a celebration. In November of 2016, UNICEF will host the Snowflake Ball. During the ball, UNICEF will celebrate their anniversary as well as Katy Perry. The Humanitarian Award will be presented to Katy Perry for all of her efforts since 2013.

While not everyone will receive awards or be honored during the Snowflake Ball, it’s important to remember that none of this is possible without you. Be inspired to get out there, to help, to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. There may not be an award with your name on it, but there is a life you’ve touched, and your name will not be forgotten.
